Encantado - Brazilian Performance at the Sydney Festival

“Emerging onto a stage decked in a vibrant patchwork, 11 dancers transform 140 colourful blankets into shape-shifting costumes and personas in Encantado, a wild celebration of nature and our place in it.”

This is how the performance is described in the Festival program. I was amazed at the colour, movement, energy and sheer bizarreness of the the 11 dancers who moved round the stage making endless costumes from multi coloured squares of fabric, creating characters and narratives from those costumes and their own body language and choreography.

Encantado at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House.

A Brazilian dance immersive experience, highly recommended.
